Setup Conversations chat client on android

I am trying to setup Conversations client on android to the disroot server. I am using 2 factor, so I am using an app password (although I tried it with my normal password also). I am following the howto. I am using my @disroot.org username.

The app is giving a server not found error. I am doing something wrong?

2FA works only for nextcloud and nextcloud only. For Jabber/XMPP you need to use your disroot credentials.

It should work with no problem:

Second thing that comes to mind since you tried 2FA app password first. We are running a system that blocks your IP when you misstype your password number of times for 15 minutes. This might be the reason why you got that error.

Please wait a bit (remove your jabber account prior), and then you should be able to login.

OK, Thanks for the info. I will wait a bit and give it another try and let you know. :+1:

Great it works! So my understanding it that the chat functionality works on a Matrix server. I am also going to give Riot a try.

Thanks

matrix is not available to new users (we ar ephasing it out) but there is a way to join any matrix room using xmpp. i will dig out the info later. bridge is currently in experimental state and hosted by matrix.org but as soon as its more stable and we have some spare time on on our hands we will deploy it on disroot too.
