[Solved] I'm getting an "Invalid private key for encryption app" error.

I’m getting the error “Invalid private key for encryption app. Please update your private key password in your personal settings to recover access to your encrypted files.” The problem is when I try to do that it just says “saving” forever. I’m not sure if I’m typing in the old password wrong or what but I tried several times. Someone on an older forum thread had a similar issue and it was recommended they delete all the files on the cloud and re-upload to fix the problem. I tried that, and now my desktop client syncs again but the error persists.

I solved the problem. I was using the wrong old password. I don’t know if I should delete this question or leave it here encase anyone else is as foolish as me.

It would be nice if Nextcloud would display a prompt as to why it isn’t working instead of just saying “Saving…”.
